What it shows
One line, taken straight from the federal filings: whether operating authority is active, whether insurance is on file, and the date we read the record. It states what is on file — it is not a rating, a score, or an endorsement, and we do not issue one.
What it costs
Nothing, permanently. There is no tier where the badge is withheld and no point at which it starts asking for a card. It is served as an image from this site, so there is no script on your page and nothing that can track your visitors.
The rules, in full
- The badge must stay linked to your MC Sentry carrier page. The snippet does this; do not strip the link.
- It shows your current filing status, whatever that status is. If your insurance lapses, the badge says so. We will not serve a badge that is pinned to a status you no longer hold.
- Do not present it as certification, approval, or a safety rating. It reports federal filings and nothing more.
- Any carrier with a page here may use it. There is no application.
If the record is wrong
We reproduce what FMCSA publishes and cannot change it. Corrections have to go through FMCSA, and once the filing is updated the badge follows within a day. How these figures are computed sets out the sources and the known lag.
